Renters Reform Bill teach-in for agents and landlords

Letting agents and landlords operating in South Warwickshire are being encouraged to take part in the next industry forum on Wednesday September 27.

The Landlord Forum is being led by the private sector housing teams from both Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon District Councils in partnership with the National Landlords Residential Association and the local Landlord Steering Group.

The event is centred around a number of so-called bite-size talks aimed at updating agents and landlords of current developments within the sector. 

These include 'Trends in the Private Rented Sector' and recent policy and legislation changes including the Renters Reform Bill.

There is also a number of exhibitors from local specialist companies and experts will cover aspects of property management, damp and mould and fire safety. A council recycling team will be on hand to answer questions.

Energy efficiency in rented accommodation is a hot topic and the councils’ partnership agency Act on Energy will be on hand to give advice on current grants and schemes suitable for rented properties.

New for this forum is a 'Tenancy Agreement Clinic', where landlords can bring questions for a specialist solicitor to answer. 

Delegates will be able to network with other professionals.

A council spokesperson says: "We are keen to support the role that Private Landlords play in providing properties in the local area.  

“The sector has seen many changes in recent years - so this is an ideal opportunity for them to come together to get the latest information and advice to support them in running their businesses.  

“We are confident that those who attend will be better equipped having attended this forum."

The Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District Council's Landlord Forum takes place on Wednesday 27 September, from 1pm to 4pm at Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse, Luddington Road, CV37 9SE.
