Rhodri Evans, director of land and new homes at Andrews Property Group, has been named as one of several industry figures on the board of the new UK Single-Family Association.
Single Family Housing is widely considered to be a growing sector in the UK rental landscape, separate to Build To Rent, and typically involving houses as opposed to apartments, and mostly located in suburban areas rather than major centres.
Savills, in a series of reports on the sector, says around two thirds of SFH tenants are 26 to 45, with six in 10 having children, and typically staying in the same property for three years or more.
Now the UKSFA body, says Evans will be one of seven board members in addition to the chief executive and a director of policy and engagement.
Other members include Sandra Jones, managing director of property data consultancy Dataloft, now part of PriceHubble, an international residential data and technology business using explainable AI to drive real estate decisions, Katherine Rose - managing director of Build To Rent consultancy VervLife - and Rob Sumner, residential investment director of Sigma Capital, a major player in Build To Rent.
"The UKSFA is thrilled to have such a distinguished and experienced group of industry professionals joining our board. I am confident that their expertise, insights, and leadership will be invaluable as we work to promote and enhance the single-family rental sector in the UK. We are committed to representing the interests of our members and driving the growth of this important industry, and our board is crucial in achieving these goals" explains chief executive Richard Berridge.
