Membership of the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) has reached its highest ever level with 300 registered firms.
The trade organisation for block managers said membership has jumped 13% since it announced measures to introduce a new self-regulatory regime for managing agents 12 months ago.
The boost in membership comes at a significant time for ARMA as it prepares to open the accreditation process for the new regime, known as ARMA-Q, later this year.
ARMA chairman Ben Jordan said: “It’s good to see managing agents responding so positively to ARMA-Q. Since we announced plans for self-regulation in 2012 we’ve seen a steady growth in membership applications. ARMA-Q is all about raising standards so it’s encouraging to see so many agents wanting to be a part of that.
“We look forward to seeing the numbers continue to rise as the date for ARMA-Q accreditation gets closer.”

At first I thought this said ARLA!!!
Have to say given the number of estate agents and letting agents dabbling in what is a very specialist field I am staggered ARMA only has 300 member firms.
Worrying given how good ARMA is and the complexities of block management and penalties for getting notices wrong in content or timing of issue.
