The fireproof balaclava worn by F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel was the star prize on an online auction run by Oxford lettings agency Finders Keepers over the holiday season, racing to a total in excess of £2,500 for a Cancer Caring Centre.
Other prizes included a tour of the Lotus F1 factory - motor sport teams, sponsors and even drivers are a backbone of the Oxford lettings market, based close to Silverstone - a holiday on Mallorca and a private lesson in dressage, show-jumping and cross-country riding from one of Britain’s top riders.
Finders Keepers is one of the country’s most innovative lettings agencies with a string of awards and a high-profile media image. Each year it organises seminars for landlord clients, takes them to the cinema by hiring an Oxford picture house for an evening, and hosts several charity fund-raising events.
It also holds investment briefings for landlords on new developments in Oxford and nearby locations.
