The UK Association of Letting Agents (UKALA) has re-launched this month with an improved offering, which includes Client Money Protection (CMP) Insurance for all members.

Central to the new UKALA offering will be a greater focus on delivering value for agents. This includes access to UKALA membership benefits, which include links to the National Landlords Association’s (NLA) membership and a new low-cost monthly instalment plan to help letting agents effectively manage their business’s running costs.

UKALA members will also benefit from access to products that aim to provide real business benefit, such as an Advice Line, operated by experts for those difficult day-to-day problems, and an Online Library, containing key advice on legislation as well as advice and guidance on best practice.

UKALA also offers members discounts on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses and essential products and services such as deposit protection and tenant checks.

Caroline Kenny, former Partner at Cluttons and newly appointed UKALA Executive, said:

“We are confident that our new offering enables new and existing UKALA members cost-effective access a full range of benefits and support which will enable to smooth day-to-day running of their business.

“Through our partnership with the NLA, a unique and highly valuable feature of the UKALA membership package, our members have access to over 20,000 landlords.

“Landlords who choose to use the services of a UKALA agent have excellent safeguards in place as our new membership criteria requires all applicants to be fully vetted and covered by UKALA’s CMP Insurance.”

“UKALA is keen to play a key role in promoting and self-regulating lettings agencies. We understand the limitations of government intervention and are keen to see the sector shaped by the needs of those living and working in it.”
