All too often, for agents, tenants, landlords and contractors, the property journey is not smooth and it’s the opposite of joyful. TBL brings the best of technology to our customers to solve their problems and take their pain away. I get a real buzz from knowing that we make people’s lives better and more enjoyable.

3. What services do you offer and in what ways do you work with estate and letting agents?

Our vision is to for all the people and all of the processes within the lettings lifecycle to be connected by one platform. I love working with an incredible group of subject matter experts, who understand every step of the lettings journey, to create bespoke solutions for our clients that solve their business problems. For today and tomorrow.

Our tech enables our clients to futureproof their businesses, through bringing cutting-edge tech to them created with over 25 years of experience in the sector behind us.

4. What was TBL’s biggest early win?

The critical win for us was taking our PropCo product onto the web in 2008, so we could then offer banking-grade internet tech to our clients. The importance of that is that we could then join up ALL the dots in a lettings business, so that information could flow freely between every department, transforming processes and enabling far better business decision-making.

5. What are the biggest opportunities that tech offers the lettings sector?

Better communication is a huge one. Your agents may be excellent, but if Property Manager Sarah’s on annual leave, or off sick, will her colleague Simon know the answer when one of her landlords rings with a pressing question?

Our tech means that not only will Simon be able to help, because he has complete visibility of what has happened with that landlord and their property, but it’s unlikely the landlord will call, because they have complete visibility of all of the relevant information to them, through their self-service web portal!

Strong tech platforms, from an operational point of view, differentiate the top performers from the rest in many sectors, like banking and retail, for example.

Quite simply, if lettings businesses don’t get on board with platform technology, they’ll be left behind, because they’ll miss out on a tidal wave of process and operational gains. That’s how transformational platform technology is for a business.

6. What are the biggest challenges to the lettings sector?

The biggest challenge for our potential customers is the sharing of information at scale. Many larger agents are now seeing this and appointing CIOs and CTOs to take accountability for that, as well as finding the right technology partner to deliver the tech that they need.

7. What makes your product different and how does it benefit agents?

I think the fact that PropCo is a platform tech solution. It’s not a CRM with a few integrations bolted on, it is an actual property agency ERP (Enterprise Resource Planner) solution.

Everything is designed to work together perfectly, covering every department in a lettings business, every stakeholder and every process, in one place. Perfect visibility for whoever needs it, secure data and client accounting that is correct to the penny – possible on a massive scale.

You can’t say that about any other provider in the marketplace. If you are a lettings agency business with ambitious plans for growth, you need PropCo.

8. What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?

I’ve only been CEO for a few weeks, after several years as Director of Strategy and Business Development, so ask me again in a few months!

9. Country house or city apartment?

Wouldn't it be nice to have both?

10. Trendy roof terrace or traditional English garden?

Traditional English garden, but you can do a lot with a small space in the city…

11. I’m buying, what’s your favourite drink?

Single Malt, or a G&T;

Non-Alcoholic: anything cold!
