It’s probably a question you’ve never asked yourself but one online flat sharing agency has calculated the most expensive and the cheapest places per month to rent a double bedroom.
Data from Easyroommate says to rent a double bedroom in the UK you would have to spend £492 per calendar month, an increase of 13 per cent of £57 compared to a year ago, when the rent was £435 pcm.
Unsurprisingly the most expensive city in the UK is London with rent for a double bedroom hitting an average £700 pcm - up 8.0 per cent on the end of 2014.
Birmingham saw its average rent increase go from £358 pcm in 2014 to £381 pcm in 2015, a gain of more than 6.0 per cent. Manchester’s rent for a double bedroom surged by 7.0 per cent, reaching an average of £393 pcm in 2015.
