Teaching your kids at home? Zoopla comes to the rescue...

Zoopla is promoting 12 lesson plans for agents and other property professionals who are teaching their children at home during the Coronavirus crisis.

The portal company is part of The Tech She Can Charter, a group of over 160 companies aiming to increase diversity in technology in the UK; its 12 lesson plans are linked to the National Curriculum.

“There’s no doubt the reduced activity in the housing market and the closure of offices has led to agents having more time at home. As a parent of two children of school age I’ve had a steep learning curve about how difficult it is to replace the expert education that a teacher can provide” explains Andy Marshall, Zoopla’s chief commercial officer.

“At Zoopla we want to support our agent partners through this difficult period. We know that there is a lot of uncertainty and this is understandably causing anxiety for many in the industry. These lesson plans will we hope make life slightly easier for agents and their families until normality returns to the market.”

The lesson plans aim to inspire children to pursue a career in technology and look at how technology is changing the worlds of education, finance, the environment and communications amongst other sectors. 

Agents who wish to benefit can learn more about the lesson plans here. The site also features a short video providing agents with extra guidance on using the plans at home, as well as an FAQs section.

The Charter is also hosting free technology lessons for students via a webcast. 

Each lesson is 20 to 30 minutes long and will be led by a qualified teacher, who designed the lesson plans. A challenge will then be set for the students to complete in the hour or so following the lesson.
